Advisor Stories
After having a successful career as Vice President of Marketing for a large, fast food chain, Christine decided to retire only to become involved in another profession as an Inteletravel advisor. Although she only planned on booking travel for family and friends part time when she first learnt about InteleTravel 10 years ago, she is now books travel full time for many clients.
The best part about being an advisor, Christine declares, is the flexibility because it allows her to work on her own time: “I LOVE the freedom to arrange my own schedule. To be able to take time off to attend a daily Zumba Class, go to lunch with friends or even go on a cruise without having to ask permission for time off from my boss… I’m the Boss!”
She also loves how easy it is to be an advisor since she is doing something she enjoys.
Christine credits InteleTravel’s educational opportunities, specifically the live training events with preferred partners and suppliers as well as boot camp activities, stating, “If you are willing to invest the time in yourself, the information is absolutely unending and FREE!!” She has learnt so much about travel through these programmes and was also able to connect with other advisors.
In addition to taking advantage of the educational tools provided by InteleTravel, Christine joined CLIA and became a Master Cruise Counsellor where she looked that booking groups rather than just one or two people per trip is vital: “Booking groups has literally changed my business from booking several friends and family travel each year to a successful travel business.” This also leads to more clients. “When you are introduced to new clients as part of a Group,” she adds, “it is a natural transition for them to become your new clients, especially when you treat them right!”
Not only is Christine enthusiastic and passionate about booking travel for her clients, but she also loves travelling herself, going on 3 or 4 holidays every year, and naming Royal Caribbean’s Ships The Oasis of the Seas and the Allure of the Seas her favourite cruise lines.
